The goal of the NAACP Criminal Justice Department is to advocate for a better public safety system that reduces the reliance on prisons as means of solving social problems, advances effective law enforcement and removes barriers to voting and employment for formerly incarcerated people. The Aurora Colorado Branch Criminal Justice Committee works to build stronger families and communities. Our Criminal Justice efforts include community advocacy, direct action, letter writing campaigns, phone banking, panel discussions and workshops to engage the community on building a better criminal justice system.
